Keep your ARNO CONTI shoes away from alcohol, oils, solvents, and water, including exposure to rain.
If your shoes do get wet, allow them to dry naturally, away from any direct heat sources.
Never attempt to clean shoes with soap and water. You may use leather care products where appropriate, carefully following provided instructions. Prior to use, ensure you spot-test leather care products in an inconspicuous area to check colorfastness.
Always retain your original proof of purchase.
Please note that while ARNO CONTI offers these suggestions out of courtesy to those wishing to care for our products, customers follow these guidelines at their own risk and ARNO CONTI accepts no liability.
Always store your ARNO CONTI shoes in the dust bag within the shoe box, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperatures. Ensure shoes with crystals and/or hardware are stored in a way that does not allow the embellishments to catch on any external structures of the shoe. Allow shoes to breathe properly before storing.
It's natural for shoes to change shape over time. Your ARNO CONTI footwear will not only mold to your own foot shape, but may stretch further with prolonged wear.
To help retain shape, we recommend stuffing shoes with acid-free tissue paper or using shoe trees.
The soles of ARNO CONTI shoes are made of smooth, supple leather and as such, they are likely to show signs of wear upon initial use. This is not a manufacturing defect. It is a natural process and part of normal wear.
We do not recommend walking on wet surfaces as this may alter the sole structure and lead to staining on the uppers.
We do not advise resoling, as this may change the structure of the shoe.
The linings of ARNO CONTI shoes are made of smooth leather. You can use a clean, damp cloth to wipe away any debris, gently removing surface soiling from the shoe lining. For shoes with suede linings, you can use a soft suede brush to lightly re-dress the nap.
Over time and with prolonged wear, the toe tips of ARNO CONTI shoes may naturally degrade. It is advisable to have toe tips replaced once the heel tips start to wear, before exposure begins on the inside of the heel. This is important as an unstable heel can cause balance issues and impact the overall shape of the entire shoe.
You can have toe tips replaced by a reputable cobbler.
ARNO CONTI products are handcrafted, including the precise placement of our exquisite crystal ornaments. It is important to ensure the crystals and surrounding hardware remain clear of the uppers, as this may cause materials to catch, scratch or tear.
Make sure shoes are stored in their dust bags, keeping the crystals from coming into contact with any part of the fabric.
Avoid contact with water, alcohols, oils and solvents. If hardware happens to come into contact with water, blot dry immediately with a cloth.
Calfskin is a smooth, sturdy leather that provides your shoes with a supple yet hard-wearing upper. Like all animal hides, the leather will naturally crease and soften with age. You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth to lightly remove surface soiling.
A neutral leather dressing may be used to maintain suppleness, but be sure to spot test before use and ensure shoes are thoroughly dry.
Metallic leather is an exquisite form of leather that utilizes lamination to provide a smooth, iridescent finish. Due to its delicate nature, metallic leather is prone to marking and requires particular care and attention. To ensure longevity of our products, we recommend storing and/or transporting shoes within their protective dustbags to minimize abrasion effects. We also advise avoiding contact with sharp or abrasive objects and surfaces which may damage the material surface.
Do not apply any leather care products to metallic leathers.
The smooth, glossy appearance of patent leather is achieved through a lacquered topcoat, providing your shoes with a durable outer layer. To maintain the shine of patent, you can use a soft cloth to lightly remove surface soiling. Due to its sensitivity to color transfer, ensure shoes are stored in their dust bags, away from any other leather materials, direct sunlight and/or heat.
The everlasting suede nap is prized for its warm, velvet-like touch and high absorption of rich colors. It is natural for some color variation to occur due to the friction of the leather. You can use a soft suede brush to lightly remove surface soiling and even out any stubborn napping. To preserve color richness, ensure shoes are stored in their dust bags, avoiding any direct light or heat.
A suede protector spray may help guard against light water exposure. Always spot test products first to ensure colorfastness.
Pony hair, or 'calf hair', is calfskin with the fur left intact. It is natural to find color variation and occasional shedding of the pony hair. You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth to lightly brush in the direction of hair growth, removing surface soiling. Abrasion may lead to irreversible balding spots so avoiding contact with sharp or abrasive objects and surfaces is very important.
Do not apply any leather care products to pony hair shoes.
It is in the nature of fur to sometimes shed hairs, which should settle down with continued wear. If fur becomes wet, allow the product to dry naturally, avoiding direct heat exposure. You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth to lightly remove surface soiling. Abrasion may lead to irreversible balding so avoiding contact with sharp or abrasive objects and surfaces is very important.
Wherever we source fur from, we do so responsibly.
For further assistance, consult leather and fur experts.
The natural, textured surface of exotic skins is delicate so avoiding contact with sharp or abrasive objects and surfaces is very important. Over time, atmospheric conditions, light exposure and general wear may cause scales to naturally lift and/or change color. You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth to lightly remove surface soiling but take care not to tug or rub at the scales.
You may apply an uncolored cream to maintain suppleness of the leather, but be sure to spot test first to ensure colorfastness.
We source luxurious snake and lizard skins responsibly.
Our luxuriously smooth satins are sourced and inspected to the highest standards of quality, luster and durability. As an exquisite natural fabric, we recommend avoiding contact with sharp or abrasive objects and surfaces which may cause the satin to pull or tear. For satin shoes featuring crystal embellishments, ensure shoes are stored in their dust bags to prevent the crystals from coming into contact with any part of the satin.
Contact with liquids may cause staining of the satin so protecting your shoes from rainwater, alcohols, oils and other liquids is very important. You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth to lightly remove surface soiling.
A water protector spray may help guard against light water exposure. Always spot test products first to ensure colorfastness.
Crêpe de Chine is crafted from an exquisite silk fabric with a matte finish, luxurious yet able to absorb rich colors beautifully. Due to its innate delicacy, we recommend avoiding contact with sharp or abrasive objects and surfaces which may cause the silk to pull or tear. For crêpe de Chine shoes featuring crystal embellishments, ensure shoes are stored in their dust bags to prevent the crystals from coming into contact with any part of the fabric.
Contact with liquids may cause staining of the crêpe de Chine so protecting your shoes from rainwater, alcohols, oils and other liquids is very important. You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth to lightly remove surface soiling.
Woven fabrics with metallic fibers give our shoes a dazzling, shimmering surface. Due to their delicate nature, we recommend avoiding contact with sharp or abrasive objects and surfaces that may snag or tear the fabric. For metallic textiles adorned with crystals, ensure the shoes are stored in care bags to prevent the crystals from touching any part of the fabrication.
Always luxurious, velvet features a soft, dense pile with a sheen. Occasionally, slight color changes may occur due to pile friction or folds and corners of the shoe structure. You can gently remove surface dirt with a clean, dry, soft cloth. Lifting the velvet pile can be achieved by lightly steaming the outer fabric.
Do not apply any leather care products to velvet shoes.
Natural woven fabrics like linen, cotton, and canvas provide durable and sturdy uppers. Natural fibers may fade over time, so we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to sunlight or strong light. When not in use, store the shoes in care bags to avoid any direct light or heat.
Linen, cotton, and canvas are highly absorbent, so contact with liquids can stain these materials. It’s important to protect your shoes from rain, alcohol, oil, and other liquids. Surface dirt can be gently removed with a clean, dry, soft cloth.
Woven wool fabrics are durable and provide a warm, textured feel. Due to their woven nature, it's crucial to avoid contact with sharp or abrasive objects and surfaces that may snag or tear the fabric. Over time, wear may cause the fabric to pill.
Wool-based fabrics are absorbent, so contact with liquids can stain these materials. It’s important to protect your shoes from rain, alcohol, oil, and other liquids. Surface dirt can be gently removed with a clean, dry, soft cloth
A wedding favorite, lace is a lightweight, open-weave fabric known for its elegant and delicate nature. It’s important to avoid contact with sharp or abrasive objects and surfaces that may snag in the fabric’s open structure. For lace shoes adorned with crystals, ensure the shoes are stored in care bags to prevent the crystals from touching any part of the fabric.
Contact with liquids can stain lace. It’s important to protect your shoes from rain, alcohol, oil, and other liquids. Surface dirt can be gently removed with a clean, dry, soft cloth.
Jute is made from woven leaves of the jute plant, offering durability while being soft and flexible. Our jute shoes are designed unlined for natural breathability, ideal for barefoot wear. Wearing the shoes with socks initially can help stretch them, but note that natural dyes in jute may cause some color transfer. Natural oils present in jute fibers help keep the product soft, so no additional care products are needed.
It’s important to protect your jute shoes from rain, alcohol, oil, and other liquids. Surface dirt can be gently removed with a clean, dry, soft cloth. If your jute shoes get wet, stuff them with paper towels and let them dry naturally, away from any direct heat or light.
Glitter-covered fabrics or leathers create a sparkling but rough surface. While this provides durability, it’s important to avoid contact with sharp or abrasive objects and surfaces, as wear may cause glitter loss.
Do not apply any leather care products to glitter shoes. Surface dirt can be gently removed with a clean, dry, soft cloth. If the shoes get wet, let them dry naturally, away from any direct heat or light.
PVC is often used in our collection, providing a smooth surface and “barely-there” transparent panels. While highly durable, PVC is a synthetic fiber with minimal breathability, and the surface may fog during wear. Surface dirt can be gently removed with a clean, dry, soft cloth. Do not spray any leather care products on PVC as this may alter the material's clarity.
